Andy Stears
Musician/Writing-Arranging/Stage Technician
Performing live from 2010, Andrew Stears is a professional bass player with experience on electric and upright bass; sailing since 2019 as a show band, party band and jazz group bassist; as well as working as Musical Director at sea for a boutique British cruise line and currently around Australia and surrounding islands. Andrew holds a BA Honours degree in Commercial Music form the University of the West of Scotland, and also has Grade 8 certification on electric bass from the Trinity School of Rock and Pop.
With a broad taste in music genres, Andrew has worked across a range of styles alongside a number of projects, nationally and internationally. Some of these projects have Andrew featured with writing and arranging credits which can be found online. He additionally has experience performing on guitar and as a vocalist, and also plays saxophone.
Outside of performing, Andrew has worked as stage manager and technician with UK touring acts across the country, and has recorded and produced tracks from studios whilst studying as a music student. His time as a student also allowed for the opportunity to work in the role of Community Music Practicioner, helping in delivering music workshops to schoolkids.
